A fatal accident brings the failed writer Dan together with the charming Alice, with whom he falls in love at first sight and even decides to write a book about her. A year later, Dan meets photographer Anna and tries to persuade her to become his lover. Alice accidentally witnesses their conversation and confesses this to Anna. After some time, Dan sets up his friend Larry with Anna. Anna and Larry start dating and fall in love with each other. Being a regular at strip clubs, Larry meets Alice in one of them, who turns out to be a stripper. As a result, a rather confusing situation develops, from which all four, continuing to torment each other, cannot find a way out...
