The plot is based on the story of an English aristocrat who inherited a huge ranch in the north of the Australian continent. Before the start of the Second World War, she comes to the estate to protect it from the attempts of English cattlemen to take over the ranch called Faraway Downs, and is faced with the need to drive 2,000 cattle across thousands of miles to the city of Darwin with the help of the hero Jackman. There, both come under massive bombing by the Japanese Air Force.
