45 Years

Kate and Jeff Mercer have been married for 45 years and have no children. They are about to celebrate their wedding anniversary, and George receives a letter that shocks them both. A letter from Switzerland says that the body of Katya, his first love, has been found frozen in a glacier in the Swiss Alps. Jeff tells Kate that he considered this girl his closest person, and that they were pretending to be a married couple. While Kate continues to prepare for the celebration and the couple experiences romantic excitement about it, she becomes increasingly concerned about Jeff's preoccupation with Kate.
