This is the first film produced by ImageMovers Digital, directed by Robert Zemeckis, Steve Starkey and Jack Repke, to be produced in 3D exclusively for Walt Disney Studios. The main role is played by Jim Carrey, who, like many other actors, will appear in the form of several characters. In addition to Ebenezer Scrooge in all ages, Kerry also plays all three spirits of Christmas - Past, Present and Future. Jim Carrey is joined by magnificent actors: Harry Oldman ("Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix") plays Scrooge's long-suffering assistant Bob Cratchett, as well as his young and seriously ill son Tiny Tim, and also the ghost of Joseph Marla, Scrooge's deceased partner. Colin Firth ("Real Love", "Bridget Jones's Diary", "Mamma Mia!") starred as Fred, the cheerful and good-natured nephew of Scrooge. Robin Wright Penn ("Game of Thrones") plays Belle, who long ago stole the heart of young Scrooge, as well as Fan, Scrooge's late sister. DICKENS' NOVEL Author's view and modern technologies The most wonderful Christmas story, which has a lot of interpretations and is retold every year for Christmas, "A Christmas Story" was written and published by Charles Dickens in 1843. Even then, the novel was a resounding success. The creators of the film felt that none of the interpretations of the original story fully reflected what Dickens himself wanted to show us. "It feels as if Charles Dickens himself wanted to make this story into a film - it's so visually rich and cinematic. It's the most wonderful story about time travel, and I tried to make the film the way, in my opinion, the author would have wanted to see it." Motion capture (animation technology in "live" computer graphics) is a process when the movements of actors are translated into digital with the help of computer cameras in 360 degrees, which allows you to make a film in the Disney Digital 3D™ format. This technology made it possible to show the world painted by Dickens without any restrictions, transporting the audience to a time and place that were previously unattainable for cinema. "This is a technology of freedom for me, as a filmmaker, - says Zemeckis. - It allows us to highlight the cinematic aspect of filmmaking, which is something that all directors always try to control and realize the magic of acting. It's an ideal mixture so that the viewer can see how the actor reveals himself on the set and convey all this in the language of cinema." Adds producer Steve Starkey: "In our film, many characters are older than life - ghosts and even Scrooge travel in time and change their appearance. Now we can do things that were not possible before." But, despite the wonderful technology that allowed the creators of the film to reveal all the sides of the characters and place them in amazing locations, Zemeckis insists that the essence of the film is still in the original story: "Take the most callous person on the planet and show him his most disgusting actions ... and we will get an amazing adventure."
