By chance, Joe and Raisa stumble upon a mysterious portal that transports them to the fantastical island of Nakali, a world full of magical and mythological creatures they have heard about since childhood in their family's Filipino stories. Some of these creatures will become friends, others will become enemies. Together with the friendly but clumsy werewolf Ro and a small but brave team of allies, Joe and Raisa must face Manananggal, the island's most feared creature. When the girls learn that returning home may cost them the memories of their friendship, they embark on a desperate quest to leave the island before they forget each other forever.
